Validation Process for Early Childhood Teachers
The validation process for Early Childhood Teachers involves those teachers who have been at the top of the Graduate or Accomplished classification for twelve months and have satisfactorily completed their Professional Development and Enhancement requirements. An eligible Graduate level teacher would apply for Accomplished classification and an eligible Accomplished level teacher would apply for Exemplary level.
Validation consists of an independent review of evidence, supplied by the teacher, which addresses the requirements of a set of professional standards related to Professional Knowledge, Professional Practice and Professional Engagement and Commitment.
There are four broad stages in undertaking the validation process:
1. Notice of intention to apply for validation.
2. Application for validation.
3. Validator review of evidence
4. Reclassification for successful applicants.
Notice of Intention to Apply for Validation and Application for Validation can be made either via this web site or via a printed application form, available from VETASSESS.
